Down is the New Up
Mon, 12 May 2008 20:11:11 +0000

Here’s an update we received from team rider Nick Corsiglia…gordystobog.jpgchillin.jpgfakiehop.jpg

“The semester is finally ending so I’ll hopefully be gettin a lot more shredding done soon! The fakie hop photo and chillin at the top of the stairs you can put the photo cred as “69″ haha. Toboggan photo is by Josh Hayes. The fakie hop took me way more tries than I thought it would mainly because the run up is horrible. I had to cut corners around the building really tight to keep up speed, 180 and hop almost instantly.

San Diego has had the weirdest weather lately! First we had a heat wave and now it’s been overcast for the last few days. Real weird for us San Diegans who are used to beautiful weather every day.

Team ripper Lee Dennis (shown above doing an uprail to over barspin) is having the grand opening for his new shop, Life Cycle, at 55 St. Paul Street West, Saint Catharines Ontario, on Saturday, May 10th, so stop in and show some support! It’s 1km (0.621371192 miles for us Americans) from the St. Catharines Park, at the corner of Pelham and St. Paul. They handle bmx, clothes and build custom road bikes. As you can read on the flyer, they’ll be there all day and then heading to the skatepark afterwards, so check it out and then go ride. Here’s a few pics of the shop…

Here’s a couple shots of team ripper Corey Godfrey killing it on some wacky curved rail/ledge type of deal. Shots of east coasters riding in just t-shirts is a welcome site. It means spring is finally in the air. Rochester has shaken off it’s snowy blanket and has returned to being it’s normal grey, bleak and depressing self… It still sucks, but at least it’s not freezing. The warm weather also brings riders from out of town here to check out our over abundance of flat rails and crack heads. Our resident beard farmer and product design guy, Trevor Cranmer, wrote up a little paragraph about some of the riding that went down this weekend…

“What an awesome weekend… That would be an understatement to the chaos that ensued last Sunday. I’ve been riding for a long time and I have never seen so many friends riding at once… It was like all of Canada decided to come to Rochester. The Niagara Street crew was in full effect with some wild ass riding and dudes nearly killing themselves. We rode for 6 hours and barely made it a mile from the start point. I have now seen every spot in the roc destroyed. Hardy Lang iced the Convention Center rail and doubled over a 6″ pole nub at some other spot before the cops told him to go back to Canada. Henry Brothers were up to no good… Finding computer parts, altercations with nazi skinheads, and mach 5 straight into a half wall… Love those kids. So much went down that I need to see video to remember it all… Until then, enjoy the weather and go to the 4/20 Jam!”
